Encourages and recognizes creative talent and academic achievement among youth of African descent through competitions in sciences, humanities, performing and visual arts, and entrepreneurship.

Economic Development Committee
Seeks to establish programs and services to address problems affecting African American servicemembers, veterans, and their families; works to improve opportunities and access to benefits.

Community Coordination Committee
Develops relationships and cooperative programs with other community organizations, civic groups, and institutions to advance equality and civil rights.

Communications, Press & Publicity Committee
Promotes the work of the branch through media outreach, press releases, social media, newsletters, and other communication channels. Ensures the mission of the NAACP is visible and understood.

Criminal Justice Committee
Works to eliminate racial inequities in the criminal justice system, including policing, sentencing, incarceration, and reentry. Advocates for reforms that ensure fairness and equal protection.

Economic Development Committee
Seeks to promote the growth of business ownership, employment opportunities, and economic empowerment within the African American community. Encourages equitable access to credit, housing, and entrepreneurship.

Education Committee
Advocates for equitable education opportunities, elimination of segregation and discrimination in schools, and full access to quality education for all children. Monitors school systems and policies.

Finance Committee
Oversees the branch’s financial health, budgeting, fundraising planning, and compliance with NAACP financial policies. Works with the treasurer to safeguard funds.

Freedom Fund Committee
Plans and organizes the annual Freedom Fund event or fundraising activities to support branch operations and programs. Ensures proper reporting and accountability.

Health & Wellness Committee
Promotes health education, disease prevention, and equitable access to quality health care for African Americans. Focuses on eliminating racial disparities in health outcomes.

Housing Committee
Works to eliminate discrimination in housing, fight unfair lending practices, and promote access to affordable housing and homeownership.

Labor & Industry Committee
Advocates for fair employment practices, worker rights, equitable wages, and representation of African Americans in unions, trades, and industries.

Legal Redress Committee
Investigates complaints of racial discrimination, refers cases to appropriate legal resources, and seeks to resolve issues through advocacy or litigation. Provides support to community members facing civil rights violations.

Membership Committee
Plans and coordinates membership recruitment, retention, and recognition programs. Works to increase branch membership and life memberships.

Political Action Committee
Educates the community on voting rights, advocates for legislation that supports civil rights, opposes discriminatory laws, and mobilizes voter participation in elections.

Prison Branch Committee
Works with NAACP prison branches, supports inmates’ rights, monitors prison conditions, and advocates for criminal justice reform policies affecting incarcerated individuals.

Religious Affairs Committee
Engages faith-based institutions in advancing the NAACP’s mission, promotes moral and ethical responsibility in civic life, and develops cooperative programs with religious groups.

Women in the NAACP (WIN) Committee
Enhances leadership roles of women in the NAACP, develops programs addressing issues affecting women and children, and promotes gender and racial equity.

Young Adult Committee
Engages members ages 21–40 in the life of the NAACP, supports leadership development, and coordinates activities that strengthen the branch’s activism and membership base.

Youth Committee
Coordinates activities of the youth council and college chapter, recruits young members, and develops leadership and civic engagement opportunities for youth.
