Housing

The Housing Committee is advancing free will-creation and notarization work to help protect generational wealth and keep families connected to their homes.

Environmental Justice

Data centers, extreme heat, and policy advocacy.

The committee is organizing around environmental justice issues and preparing a September legislative event with Sierra Club and the Black Legislative Caucus.

Labor & Industry

Second Chance employment pathways.

The Labor & Industry Committee is supporting job access for people with legal histories, employment gaps, seniors, and community members seeking opportunity.

Hike & Heal and walking-safety programming.

Toward Our Centennial

Approaching 100 Years of Civil Rights Work in Las Vegas.

Founded in 1928, NAACP Las Vegas Branch #1111 is approaching a historic milestone. As the branch moves toward its centennial, a new chapter is being built through active committees, stronger systems, youth investment, community partnerships, and weekly work in the places where civil rights still matter.

Under Executive Director Gerald Mayes, the branch is strengthening its infrastructure, expanding civic engagement, supporting volunteers, and preparing the organization for the next generation of advocacy.
